So by looking at this picture this baby just might have those monkey feet mentioned in "Lima Bean Preview". Looks like he or she will be able to write and pick up various items with its toes like its Mom or may just have 3 inch long toes like its Dad. Who knows. I guess we'll see in July.
By the way it struck me today that I am going to be a Mom while I was laying on the table with the jelly all over my belly (yuck). Reality check, baby coming.. time to get the room ready!
If you can't see the foot it is over towards the right, the heel is on the left and the toes are on the right. Like all the pictures on this site you can click on it to see it larger.
At the latest you will be hearing from me in two weeks after the next ultrasound.
So we had our 20 week appointment today and everything looks great. In this picture on the left is the forehead and if you tilt your head to the left it would be as if you were looking directly into the baby's eyes. Can you see it? The sonographer said the baby weighs an estimated 14 ounces and usually they weigh around a pound at this point so all is well! Thank God!
It had a heart rate of 146 this time, almost the same as the fist ultrasound we had. The sonographer didn't get a really good look at the heart because the baby was facing my back most of the time, oh except the part where it decided standing on my full bladder was a good idea. LoL. She said she could see four chambers but since she couldn't get the view she really needs I have to go back in two weeks. Oh well, more pictures for the album and the website.
More to come.
Ok, so I guess I do have a little bit of a belly. This is actually at 20 weeks and 4 days. I'm growing after all. The nurse said I am doing great with my weight gain so that is very exciting!
So today after waking up at 3:45 am to let the dog out I tried to go back to sleep but someone was kicking me. I think it goes by the name "the lima bean". So I told Mike to roll over and feel, which they say you usually can't feel anything on the outside for a few more weeks but hey what can I tell ya? So Mike put his hand on my abdomen for a few minutes and didn't feel anything (baby wasn't kicking) then out of nowhere comes this swift kick. I turned to Mike and said "did you feel that?" he was so excited and responded "YUP!"
So he got to feel what I have been feeling for the past few weeks how exciting. This is so awesome.
At the rate this baby is going today I think I'm going to sign him/her up for gymnastics to start on the day of birth.
Now all I have left to do is grow. I will update the picture soon. Not much has changed. I think I will wake up one morning to a big round belly, the one I have been waiting for.
