Sonny's first meal

Here is Sonny eating his first solid meal, rice cereal. I can't believe I'm even typing this already. He did really well for his first time. We had a small audience consisting of Daddy, Aunt Bren and Uncle Steve. Before I know it I'll be posting pictures of his first steps. Boo Hoo Hoo!! Is it time for another already? Well, you can bet I will be back tomorrow night with Halloween pictures. Stay tuned.

Happy Halloween

Sonny would like to wish everyone a Happy Halloween and BEE careful!!

Sonny and I would also like to let everyone know that his Great Aunt Mair will have her very own Grandchild this summer. Oh and this also means Sonny will have a second cousin YAY!!! Thanks Kristen, we lost all hope in a first cousin so we're looking to more distant prospects. Congrats Aunt Mair & Kris (oh, I guess Larry had something to do with that too)!!

The Stats are in

This is Sonny with his Pepere (Peh-Pay) after the first dose of Tylenol in his life. A few minutes after this shot was taken, I was wondering if Pepere had gotten into the Tylenol too. He had four shots at the doctor and seemed to be in a little bit of pain and I was also trying to prevent a fever. Oh, and the "latex magic", he got that as a treat in the house, he usually only has it to calm him in public at meal time since his mom isn't a public nurser.

Sonny had his visit with the doctor yesterday and she was very impressed with him, as we all are. I'm glad the doctor could confirm it though. Anyway, he weighs 15 pounds now and is 26.25" tall and his head is 16" around.

When the doctor came into the room Sonny was showing off his new chewing on toys trick and she looked at him and said "Nelson that's pretty good, 4 month old babies do that." Then she uncovered his naked body and said "You are the size of a 4 month old too!" She can't believe how big and strong he is. If I didn't know the exact day I conceived I would think he was over a month late. Sonny is also allowed to start eating cereal now too. She said she is not as strict with the age limit as she was before and since he is so big he should have no problem. Most doctors like babies to begin eating cereal between 4 and 6 months. Well, here we go with the percentiles: he is off the charts for his height and weight and he is in the 95th percentile for his head. For those of you who have no idea what this information means, read below. No, I'm not really that smart I copied it from a website.

Percentiles are the most commonly used clinical indicator to assess the size and growth patterns of individual children in the United States. Percentiles rank the position of an individual by indicating what percent of the reference population the individual would equal or exceed. For example, on the weight-for-age growth charts, a 5-year-old girl whose weight is at the 25th percentile, weighs the same or more than 25 percent of the reference population of 5-year-old girls, and weighs less than 75 percent of the 5-year-old girls in the reference population.

Q.T. with Daddy

Here is Sonny spending some quality time with Daddy and with his 14th cousin once removed, Libby. I'm not really sure what their cousin title is but I know it's far enough that they could have kids with only one head....

Ok, so I had to add the diaper explosion so that you all know it's not all fun and games with Sonny like we make it out to be. No, he didn't sit in this for more than 5 minutes but he is getting ready to start wearing a size 3 diaper and I am trying with all my might to use up the last of the size 2 diapers that we have. I know I could save them for my next baby but there are only like 10 left. As you can see it doesn't bother him one bit.

Whoa!

This is Sonny at 12 days old and at 10 weeks and 4 days old. I had to get a comparison photo in this outfit. I think this may be his last wearing since it may begin to cause hammer toe soon.

Oh, by the way I won't be able to post this many pictures in one day ever again once I start therapy for my camera addiction.

Random 10 week pictures

So we had some fun taking pictures in the past few days. These are all of Sonny at 10 weeks old. He is not doing anything new to speak of, I guess he is too busy taking time to get cuter. If you only enlarge one, make it the second yellow towel one. Now that is a pout if I've ever seen one.

Week 9

As always click to enlarge the photos.

This is Sonny in his 9th week. Time flies when you're having fun! He still weighs 15 pounds and seems to be getting longer by the minute. We had a fun photo shoot in the blue sweater outfit today. The other photos are from the weekend. The picture with Aunt Mair is to show you his new dog hat (and his lovely Aunt Mair of course), then there is Mike dressing Sonny all by himself in his yellow shirt and the other picture is what I will probably come home to on Sundays for the rest of my life (during football season anyway)!!!

NOTES: Sonny recently found his hands and also learned to laugh out loud. He is discovering his voice too, I'm not too sure I like that trick but I guess it had to happen sometime. He is still sleeping and eating really well. I am looking forward to his appointment on the 28th. I will add a notes section when there are new things to report. Thanks again for staying up to date.

Beastie Boys

These are the pictures that the babysitters club (Grandma & Aunt Mair) took while we were at the Beastie Boys concert, which rocked if I might say so myself. We had a great time and as it seems so did Sonny.

More news on the 28th after his appointment.

8 Weeks

Here are some pictures of Sonny at 8 weeks old. He is getting too big too fast just like everyone said he would. He is doing well and growing his hair back, as you can see. It is time for him to have a bath now so we must go.

Sonny's Progress

Well, I don't have any pictures for you today but I thought I should let you all know that he is doing great. Now weighing in at 15 pounds he is going for the baby heavy weight championship of the world. Sonny is a great baby, not because he is mine but he sleeps well and eats like a champ. I hate to brag but he rocks. I will post some updated pictures as soon as the webmaster gets home from her honeymoon, she's got some nerve!!!

Oh yeah I forgot to mention after seeing two different specialists about the tied tongue they both told me not to do it at this point. According to them it is a major procedure that requires anesthesia (I heard differently but that's okay). Anyway the tongue is still tied and they want to wait until he starts to talk to see if it causes a problem. I will update you before that though don't worry.
