Sonny's First Haircut

That he did on his own that is. When I walked into a very quiet kitchen I found a 3-year-old boy standing over the trash can cutting his hair. Once I picked myself up off of the floor I calmly exlained that "you can't cut your own hair" and he so innocently said "why mama, dada doos it?" So what the he** do you say to that? We buzz Mike's hair into the trash can. Sonny wasn't doing it to be evil and see if I could deliver 6 weeks early, he thought he could do it because well, dada doos it. So instead of killing him I threw him into the shower to see if we could maybe comb it over or something. Umm, no! So he will be 'that' kid for a while.
He had his three year check up last week and is doing great. Speech is getting better by the day and it's okay that he still needs diapers for bed. Doc says it's because he's a heavy sleeper and he may need them until he's 4 or 5. That's perfectly fine with me, I can't ask for too much. Let's face it, how many boys are potty trained at under 2.5 years old? He's got the daytime covered and to be honest, I don't need to get up any extra times in the night right now. His height and weight are both in the 97th percentile. He's doing well in school aside from not eating or using the bathroom. His teachers love him. They asked if he could come 3 days instead of 2 because he was having a hard time adjusting on his first day back each week. This seems to be working a little bit better.
Next week will be the Rosey update. Her 18 month appointment is Thursday. At that time I can also update you on baby hippo, I have an appointment on Tuesday. Mom, if you could please fix any grammatical errors I would appreciate it! Enjoy the pictures.

9 Weeks to go

I had a check-up today and all is well. Baby is head down and ready for takeoff. Not for at least another 9 weeks though. The best part of the visit is that according to their chart I have only gained 10 pounds and since the doctor says that the baby weighs about 4 pounds right now I'm pretty psyched!!!
Sonny starts preschool for real tomorrow. He's had three trial days and has done well so far-aside from not eating or peeing-but apparently, that's normal. "Jonny" had a great b-day party in spite of the cake having the wrong name on it. Good thing Cousin Kristen is crafty and she fixed it for him. We went to a theme park last week and the kids got to go on some rides. Mickey had more fun watching Sonny than going on the rides herself...or maybe she was just too hot to get out of the stroller. Sonny rode all the big rides like the log flume and roller coaster. I was having a nervous breakdown but Mike, Memere and Pepere had fun.
Michaela is doing well, walking like a pro now and talking more than the average child her age. She even told Aunt Katie that she doesn't like Beefaroni "don't lye dat" and today she informed me that "Men ate all" which translated to "Bren ate it all." That was her response when I asked Sonny where all the gum went. She has mastered the art of "NOOOOOO", which is a real treat, and her lungs work like a dream.
