The kids began their sport season a few weeks ago. It started with Mickey playing soccer and Sonny playing T-ball. Now here we are two weeks later and Mickey is playing soccer twice a week and T-ball after soccer one day. Sonny is playing soccer and T-ball with a little help getting him on the soccer field from his very brave sister. As for Ms. Lilly, she is their #1 fan!
Note: future photos will have them in proper gear instead of looking like they are on the wrong team. This was not the plan when we left that day.
So Sonny is doing well in school and he seems to really like it. He looks forward to going back the next day so that's a good thing.
The first day he got on the bus with no problem (even though Mickey missed it because she was on the potty). He told me he wants lunch on a tray a.k.a. school lunch so we made arrangements for that.
The second day he was crying hysterically at the dinner table and laying on my lap saying "I haven't seen you all day!" He was a tad bit tired!
The third day was fine as long as I was going to pick him up and not make him take a 1 hour long bus ride when we only live 1/2 mile from school.
The fourth day went off without a hitch.
The fifth day I got a call to come get him because he was "pale, cold and clammy." I arrived to find my boy laying on a cot in the nurse's office which is smaller than my bathroom, using her sweatshirt as a pillow, in the dark with the nurse and snoring away like it was 2 am. So knowing my child like the back of my hand and having been pale cold and clammy myself in the past I ask "was anybody bleeding?" The nurse smiles and says "Yes, he was, he cut both knees on the playground and on his way here to get some band-aids his teacher noticed that he was very pale, cold and clammy." So sounding most likely like the meanest mother on earth I answer "Oh, thank God!" Really, I was relieved that he saw blood and not that he was sick. He's had a history of coming very close to passing out at the site of blood, not unlike either of his parents. So the nurse and I decided that him having the possibility of fainting at the site of blood is a good thing to add to his chart for the future. Let's hope it doesn't happen anymore.
Day six is happening now so hopefully he's doing fine!

I just added this entry to list a few of the funny things the kids say and have said in the past years.
(Sonny at 3) Driving home from Grandma's I was pointing out the bats in the sky asking if he could see them and he kept saying no, no, no. Then we got to a point where there were no more trees and no more bats. So I said "oh well, all the bats went home to go nah night." Sonny said "what about the balls?"
(Sonny at 4) While passing a farm I said "Oh, look cows. Did you know a baby cow is called a calf? Do you know what a baby horse is called?" He answered me with confidence "A half!"
(Mick at 3) While watching Pinocchio looked up at me sitting next to her and said "Ma, did you know kids smoke butts?"
(Sonny at 2) I don't want Michaela to shower with me because she pulls my penis.
(Sonny at 4) While I was gathering dresses for a friend to wear to a wedding he was sitting on my bed watching. We brought all that I had collected into the kitchen to offer them and Sonny looked at me and said "Mom, why don't you let her wear that beauteeful white one in the box under your bed?"
(Mickey at 3) Pulling up to the Wendy's drive through line with 5 cars ahead of us "Well, look at this F*ing traffic jam!" When questioned she said "I didn't say the F word I said traffic, I said traffic."
(Sonny at 5) After the first day of school "Can you give my teacher some money so I can get lunch on a tray?"
9/16/09 Lilly still not talking too much as of right now. Mostly says "Mom, I peed" we're working on getting her to say "Mom, I need to pee." She also says "Nonny too?" and "Nonny home" every time she sees a school bus. No matter what I ask her to do she says "Aw-wite"
11/15/09 Sonny has been sick for 3 days and throwing away all the food I have made or bought for him, he just thinks he wants it. Tonight he wanted pizza so we got pizza. He didn't eat it now he wants beefaroni and I told him I wasn't making it for him. He just told me "I need to find someone to make me food or I'm gonna die, I'm serious, I'm dying!"
11/14/09 After taking Sonny's amoxicillan out of the fridge and giving him his dose while doing 23 other things as usual I hear Lilly announce proudly "I yike dat." I turn to find her with a white mustache, white lips and a white tongue from chugging antibiotics out of the bottle. Luckily it wasn't pain killer.
11/30/09 While decorating Memere's house with all of her nut crackers for Christmas Michaela took a break to say "Geez Memere, I never worked this hard in my whole life!"
12/1/09 When we drive in the car Lilly constantly yells at the person in front of us "GO BUDDY!" I don't know where she gets her road rage.
12/2/09 Sonny told me "Today we had spaghetti at school they make the best, you make the bestest. At school they don't give you a lot of sauce."
Well, even though it's over it was great! We had a very fun filled summer. Didn't leave much time for updating the website but sadly I'll have more free time on my hands in the coming weeks. Sniff sniff! A long time ago someone asked when I would stop posting on here and if I would be putting up pictures of Sonny starting school. It seems like yesterday that he was born but Sonny will be going to kindergarten this week. Mickey will be back in preschool and me and Lilly will be....ummm? I don't know, doing laundry or something.
We took a trip to NY for Julia's baptism a few weeks ago and we had a blast. The kids were so busy all week, there were few nights that lasted past 6. Here are some pics of our summer fun!
